GARDA is a project initiated and supported by the Galileo Joint Undertaking (GJU) to prepare the user receiver development for the future Galileo satellite navigation system.

Due to the new Galileo signal-in-space structure, Galileo receivers, will have to operate and process navigation signals that differ substantially from the GPS C/A code by different chipping rates, introduction of pilot signal components or different signal formats, such as BOC(1,1) on L1, AltBOC(15,10) on E5a &E5b.

As a consequence, GARDA team, lead in this task by AUDENS ACT, identified the following core technological areas, summarised in following table, in order to meet the anticipated needs of future Galileo receivers and, thus, to strengthen European industrial experience and competitiveness.
